Describe the vibration before listing causes
Idling means the engine is running without accelerator input. Is its speed irregular, or does it appear steady while vibration reaches the seat and steering wheel? This is a useful initial observation, not a definitive test separating the causes.
Observations to record during normal use

Spark plugs and ignition
DENSO explains that worn spark plugs may be associated with rough running, misfiring, and difficulty starting. Vibration alone does not prove that the spark plugs are responsible.
Air and fuel
The complaint may require measurements and checks of the supply system. Random cleaning or spraying a cleaner does not replace identifying the fault.
Engine mounts
A damaged mount may transmit excessive vibration to the body. That does not mean every vibration at steady engine speed comes from the mounts, or that fluctuating speed rules them out.

Ask for an inspection with a clear result
- Start by describing the complaint. Specify whether you feel it in the seat, steering wheel, or entire vehicle, and whether it has existed since you acquired the car.
- Provide the maintenance record. The specification of the last spark plugs and any replaced components. Correct suitability matters more than descriptions such as 'the highest grade' or 'the most expensive'.
- Ask for evidence of the cause. Fault readings, measurements, and inspection should support the proposed component, not simply its appearance on a list of possibilities.
- Check the result under the same conditions. If the complaint occurs only when cold, say so in advance so the technician can plan the inspection. A short warm-engine test alone is not enough.
Vibration with a flashing warning light should not wait
If the check-engine light flashes, severe power loss occurs, or fuel can be smelled, stop safely and seek help. Do not raise engine speed to make the vibration feel weaker or unplug ignition connectors with the engine running.
When is further follow-up needed?
If told that the vibration is normal, ask for an explanation linked to the engine type and condition, especially if it is new or worsening. If it disappears after service and returns, provide the timing and mileage rather than automatically repeating the service. Recording the difference before and after the work makes follow-up more useful.

Is cleaning the throttle body a guaranteed solution?
No. It must suit the symptom and the manufacturer's procedure, and some vehicles may require initialization afterward. Do not request it instead of diagnosis.
Do all engines idle equally smoothly?
No; designs differ. The more useful comparison is a change in your own car's behavior and any additional symptoms, not the feel of a different vehicle.
