A conventional hybrid combines combustion and electric power and recovers some energy during deceleration. The word hybrid does not necessarily mean there is a charging port. Obtain the full trim, engine, model year and market details, then consult the manual for that version.
Assess your charging commitment
For a plug-in version, write down how many days you can charge, where and at what cost. Do not base the decision on theoretical electric use that your parking routine cannot support. Calculate both an optimistic charging scenario and one that relies more heavily on fuel.
Compare figures on a consistent basis
Do not directly compare an advertised consumption figure of unknown test conditions with a figure calculated from fuel purchases. Record the source, unit and whether electricity and fuel are combined. If the bases cannot be aligned, present the figures separately rather than claiming a precise saving.
Keep the decision reviewable
Prioritize verifiable factors: charging access, local warranty, luggage capacity and trim price. Keep the offer and equipment list. A useful decision explains why this version suits you today and what change in circumstances might make the alternative preferable.
